balckboard

And, also, forgot to mention....

Blackboard has been great to use over my time here at NYU. It's accessible and easy to navigate and an excellent tool for students and teachers alike. I can remember when I first began my studies and was intimidated by blackboard. It was very foreign to me since I graduated college in 2003. However, once I learned how to navigate it (it was easy), it has been an invaluable resource for me as a graduate student. The layout is clear and I like that it's generally the same for every course. Yay for Blackboard!

my peeps!

I have really enjoyed checking out everyone's web pages! What a testament to the work we have done this semester! They all look great.

Three webpages that I was particularly drawn too were

Sabrina Jacob - I love how Sabrina gave her page a theme (movement) right from the get go. I really think that Sabrina's page reflects her creative and inspiring personality. I also appreciated how Sabrina really personalized her page with the diffferent media she selected! Nice Work!

Tecoyia Scott Littleton - I love how Tecoyia's page just radiates happiness, just like her! She really did a nice job setting it up. We actually used a similar format in places, probably because we're such good friends! I also loved reading her blog. Her personality was really evident and she clearly has a lot to say!

Lindsay Quinn - Lindsay's page looks great and I have to give her props for getting it up and running to the degree she did! I know that she had some tough times in the beginning (didn't we all). Her hard work has really shown through. She has created a simple, but good looking web page! I also love her pics of Paris!

Nice work by my Ed. Theatre colleagues! It has been a pleasure, ladies!

group project

Oh! I forgot. I wanted to give a brief overview of how our group project went. Well, it was ok. I wish that we had done something a little more creative. I really liked the videos that some of my classmates put together. In terms of our presentation, I think we communicated effectively with the class. I do, however, think that we let the videos play for too long. We should have had briefer clips. Would have helped with time. For some reason, this project was really tough to work on outside of class. We all had such conflicting schedules. That is always an issue, of course. As I mentioned in my 20 questions about the class, I think we would have benefitted from having a specific direction to work with...like if we were assigned something specific to create a group webpage about. Just a thought....

Home stretch

Well, I am almost done with grad school! Crazy stuff. I emailed out my 20 questions for Tech Resources earlier today and now I just have to do one more paper and I am good to go! Such a strange feeling. I have really love my time at NYU!

group project

So, our group project is coming along. We had a slight change in direction, but I think it's for the best. I totally see the value of group projects, but this time in the semester, they are so stressful. Everyone is so busy getting things together that it's really hard to meet up. Of course in every class, I have a group project, which makes things tough. I just hope every thing turns out well. I'm sure it will. One thing that I like about our group project is that we've really tried to incorporate a lot of what we've learned in Tech Resources class. We've used movies, pictures, and general html code to complete our project and we've done it by focusing on a topic that we are all quite passionate about!

music and blackboard

So, I have done my music concrete and created my .gif image for the animation page. Not too easy, but glad I figured it out! I plan to write the html for both pages this week and be all caught up after the holiday. Yay!

In terms of NYU's Blackboard, I have found it to be very user friendly over my time at NYU. It's a great resource for students to stay up to date on work and also communicate with classmates. I also love when professors post readings under documents and I don't have to buy expensive text books. All in all, it's helped me out a lot as a grad student.

gif

i am having a hard time converting my jpegs to gifs for our gif assignment. i wanted to be able to find a free software online so i wouldn't have to go to the comp lab at school for photoshop, but it has proven more difficult than i expected! other than that, i am almost done with the music concrete. which means, a couple more blogs, a group meeting about our project, this darn gif portion of my page and then...FINISHED! crazy!

My group meetings have gone well thus far. I think I'm really going to like working with Kate, Laura, and Jason. We have a great idea for our group project. We still need to work out some details (like when we're going to meet outside of class!), but I know that will all come together in time.

My first post is about internet browsers. Internet browsers, also known as web browsers, are used to access web pages on the internet. There are a variety of different browsers out there. A browsers job is to share information over the World Wide Web. An internet browser recognizes webpages by processing their URI (Uniform Resource Identifier). The most commonly used URI us http://. The most common internet browser is Internet Explorer. This is commonly used with PCs. MACs generally use a browser called Safari. Other popular browsers are Modzilla Firefox and Google Chrome. I, personally, use Safari and I really like it!
